This Central American native is a fantastic choice for color in your planting borders for the summer and the fall seasons. In fact it can actually be used as a winter annual in milder winter areas. The unique form and texture of this plant make it a real fun addition into any landscape. Make sure it gets a little shade in the afternoon if it is to be planted in warmer zones.
