Lily of The Valley (Convallaria majalis 'Rosea') - Description

Pale mauve-pink flowers give a new twist to this old-fashioned favorite. Convallaria 'Rosea' has bell-shaped blooms that appear in spring and last for several weeks then produce tiny orange berries. 'Rosea' is a tough, vigorous groundcover, but the dainty blossoms are very fragrant and can be used for making perfume.

Rhizomatous perennials. Convallarias will grow 6-8 in. high. Does best in full sun to full shade. Grow Convallaria in a woodland garden. Can also use as a groundcover in a border that is damp and shady. If an indoor flower display is desired, lift and pot up rhizomes in fall. Plants may require some gentle force to encourage growth. Replant outdoors after the flowering season.
