Lettuce (Lactuca sativa 'Vivian') - Description
This medium to dark green leafed lettuce is actually a romaine-with the texture of a butterhead. Vigorous plants produce giant-16" long by 6" wide-heads quickly, creating a real gem in the garden. The harvest begins about 70 days after planting, but leaves may be picked younger if desired. Grow in full sun to partial shade in average, well-drained soil. Sow seed directly in garden after the chance of heavy frost has passed. Cool season plants, they can tolerate a light frost.
