Lantana (Lantana x 'Gold Mound') - Description

A striking hybrid that is covered in butter yellow blooms that can create majestic drifts of color throughout your planting borders. Look for a full display from spring through fall. A barren look in winter, but well worth the wait once it awakens to spring time! A horticultural wonder with it's low water and low maintenance needs, and yet it will be the focal point in your garden no matter where you plant it. Lantana x 'Goldmine' can bloom year round in zones 10 and 11 for a real golden glow in your tropical themed garden! Beware of the toxic fruits that form after the flowers are dropped--they will look like fat blackberries but can be fatal if ingested by kids or pets. In very temperate zones beware that Lantana can actually become invasive and may be even banned in your area as a noxious weed.
