A. filix-femina is native to much of North America. It can grow to heights of 4 feet or tall, and 2 to 3 feet wide. It is narrow at the bottom, but spreads at the top (vertical effect).

Takes full sun or partial shade. Plant subjected to full sun need constantly wet soil. Some species can produce fronds that get 4 ft. and taller. Does best in high humidity.
