B. darwinii is a very showy barberry from Chile. It grows to heights of 5 to 10 feet tall, and 4 to 7 feet wide. It bears crisp, dark green 1 inch leaves and orange-yellow flowers. It also bears dark blue berries, which are popular with birds.
