C. officinalis is native to Southern Europe and around the Mediterranean Sea. The plants grow to heights of 1 to 2.5 feet tall and wide with bright green 4 inch long leaves.

They easily provide color from late fall to spring in mild-winter climates. In colder climates, Calendulas will bloom from spring to mid-summer. Deadhead to lengthen the flowering period.
