Taste the best Alpine type Strawberry by growing your own, with plenty left over for pies, tarts, and preserves. Self-pollinating and delicious wild strawberry flavor, exquisite fragrance. 'Ruegen Imporved' produces dainty 1" bright red, conical berries on neat, runner-less plants make a tidy edging for flower beds. Fruit production is continuous from midsummer on through the Fall.

Excessive heat or dryness will cause flowering (and fruiting) to stop. Remove flowers for about 6 weeks if plant needs to become established. Afterwards, leave flowers to allow fruiting. Fertile soil, watered, but well-drained, and sunlight are important for ripening the fruit.
