Spider Plant (Chlorophytum comosum 'Variegatum') - Description
This plant may very well be the most popular indoor plant to grow, it is definitely the easiest to grow, and easily the easiest to propagate! C. comosum 'Variegatum' is native to South Africa. It forms 1 to 3 feet high clumps of soft, curving leaves like long, broad grass blades. It's ability to grow and thrive under some of the most neglectful conditions makes it a champion amongst beginners and old time gardeners alike. To propagate new plants, one only needs to pluck or snip the small plantlets off the stalons that form on the mother plant and just put them into their own pot with soil.
