Resurrection Lily (Lycoris squamigera) - Description
L. squamigera is native to China and Japan. Delightfully fragrant clusters of 8-12 lavender pink, lily-like 3" flowers on sturdy 2' stalks are fantastic in the garden and for cutting and taking inside. Magic Lilies are a wonderful surprise in the mid to late summer garden.
Resurrection Lily (Lycoris squamigera) - Blooming
Showy clusters of flowers borne from spring to fall, depending on species. Flowers in umbels atop fleshy, leafless stems and blooms appear when leaves are dormant. Bloom stalks may seem to arise suddenly from bare ground. Individual flowers have six petal-like tepals and six prominent stamens that stick out. Tepals are recurved and spreading. Blooms either have bread tepals or spidery blooms.
