Rose-Scented Pelargonium (Pelargonium capitatum) - Description
Pelargonium capitatum is one of several species (including Pelargonium graveolens) known as rose-scented pelargonium in English. The popular names refer to the scent of the essential oils extracted from glandular tissue, not the flowers, which have hardly any scent to speak of. Some of the species are known as kusmalva (meaning, roughly, "coastal geranium") in Afrikaans.

Blooms when the weather gets warm.
Rose-Scented Pelargonium (Pelargonium capitatum) - Growth

Rose-Scented Pelargonium (Pelargonium capitatum) - Planting
Sow seeds from late winter to early spring when average temperatures rise above 70F. Stem cuttings can be taken in spring, late summer or early fall.
Rose-Scented Pelargonium (Pelargonium capitatum) - Pest
Aphids, whiteflies, and spider mites.
Rose-Scented Pelargonium (Pelargonium capitatum) - Interesting facts
Plants in the genus Pelargonium are often times mistaken as members of the genus Geranium. Plants in Pelargonium do have the common name of Geranium, but from a botanical standpoint they are not true Geraniums. Pelargoniums are mostly native to South Africa, while true Geraniums are native to the Northern Hemisphere. Pelargoniums have woody bases and are all perennials, whereas true Geraniums are not all woody-based and include both annuals and perennials.
Rose-Scented Pelargonium (Pelargonium capitatum) - Soil and irrigation
Requires good, fast-draining soil.
