Mock Orange (Philadelphus x lemoinei) - Description
Philadelphus x lemoinei is a shrub in the genus Philadelphus. In 1884, Victor Lemoine crossed Philadelphus microphyllus with Philadelphus coronarius and produced this hybrid plant which he named P. Lemoinei. The following cultivars have gained the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit:-
Mock Orange (Philadelphus x lemoinei) - Blooming
Blooms fragrant white, cup-shaped flowers in late spring or throughout the summer.
Mock Orange (Philadelphus x lemoinei) - Growth
Deciduous shrub. Best performance in full sun or partial shade. Philadelphus works well in a shrub border or in a woodland garden. The larger species are useful screens.
Mock Orange (Philadelphus x lemoinei) - Planting
Propagate by softwood cuttings in summer or hardwood cuttings in the fall or winter.
