Butia eriospatha is a species of flowering plant in the Arecaceae family. It is found only in Brazil.

Small yellow flowers appear in the summer followed by clusters of yellow to red fruits. The fruits are showy and edible.

Monoecious, single-stemmed palms. Does best in full sun exposure or light shade. Hardy to 15F/-9C. Pindo Palms are slow growing up to 20 ft. tall. Tolerates periods of 32F (0C) in areas with dry, sunny weather conditions. In less hardy areas, Butia works well as a houseplant (young plants), or grown in a cool greehouse or conservatory. Can be grown outdoors in frost-free areas as specimen trees. Butia grows best in cool, dry areas.
