'Ville de Lyon' is a vigorous free-flowering cultivar that will certainly attract attention to your landscape. The velvety, cherry-red 6" flowers are made up of perfectly formed overlapping petals with deep pink central bars. Nicely contrasting yellow anthers. 'Ville de Lyon' will rebloom in early autumn with a lighter bloom load than the spring bloom. This Clematis grows nicely as a shrub since the lower leaves may be sun-scorched by late summer. The bloom color can depend a lot on the local environment and soil conditions.
