Silverbush (Convolvulus cneorum) - Description
C. cneorum is an evergreen shrub with silky-smooth, silvery gray, lance-shaped leaves. It bears whit or pink-tinted morning glories with yellow throats open from pink buds in late spring and summer.
Silverbush (Convolvulus cneorum) - Blooming
Flowers resemble those of true Morning Glories (Ipomoea tricolor). The flowers are trumpet shaped often times blue, sometimes with a yellow throat. Some species have pink flowers in the summer.
Silverbush (Convolvulus cneorum) - Growth
In climates that get cold, wet winters, Silverbush plants do best as potted plants. When winter arrives, move the containers into a drier location. Silverbush plants can withstand some cold, but as the temperatures dip they will not thrive as they would in warmer temperatures.
Silverbush (Convolvulus cneorum) - Planting
Plants spread via rhizomes which can be used for easy propagation.
Silverbush (Convolvulus cneorum) - Pest
Spider mites and aphids may cause problems. Other issues include leaf spots and rust.
Silverbush (Convolvulus cneorum) - Soil and irrigation
Does best in poor to moderately fertile soils that are well-draining. Water freely during the growing season, keep just moist in winter.
