Castor Aralia (Kalopanax septemlobus) - Description
K. septemlobus is native to eastern Asia. It bears big 7 to 10 inch long leaves with five to seven lobes. With age, the spines eventually disappear from the truck and larger branches form. It produces tiny white flowers that appear in flattish, 1 to 2 feet clusters at the branch ends in the summer.
