Lettuce (Lactuca sativa 'Igloo') - Description
Cool, crispy heads form quickly, yet hold incredibly well in the garden as the summer temperatures creep higher. Its strong heat resistance made it a marvelous performer in Burpee's Fordhook Farm kitchen garden in spring, summer and fall plantings. Fresh green color and pleasingly mild flavor just add to its winning qualities. It will take about 70 days to get this lettuce to your dinner table.

Unless you are allowing the lettuce plants to set seed for seed harvesting, you should not allow the plants to flower. Blooms dense clusters of small yellow flowers.
