Lettuce (Lactuca sativa 'Little Caesar') - Description
The right stuff for your personal Caesar salad. Tall heads have sweet, crisp leaves. One head is just right for two, a blend of tasty green outer leaves and golden blanched inner leaves. This Romaine is perfect for small gardens and easy to grow. It's about 2/3 the size of Parris Island Cos and is not troubled by tip-burn. Plant early in spring or in the fall, for this lettuce grows best in cool weather. Plant in fertile soils and give ample water to your plants. If it does get hot protect your plants from heat with shade cloth, or make sure they are in a location with good afternoon shade. It should take around 70 days for this to be ready for the dinner table.
