Lettuce (Lactuca sativa 'Parris Island Cos') - Description
An excellent romaine, with leaves that are medium green, thick, slightly savoyed and form 10" heads. These plants are tolerant to lettuce mosaic virus, tip burn, and are slow bolting. When thinning out your beds make delicious extra-early salads from the baby greens. In early spring make successive plantings every two weeks or so to extend the period of harvest. In dry weather, keep soil moist to delay onset of bolting. Ready to harvest about 70 days after sowing seeds.
