Lettuce (Lactuca sativa 'Simpson Elite') - Description
Lettuce 'Simpson Elite' (Looseleaf) is fast-growing, tender, colorful, and tolerant of hot weather. Similar to Black Seeded Simpson; this lettuce can be harvested a month longer, and won't get bitter. Plant early in spring, and repeat every two weeks into fall for a full season harvest. Protect from heat with shade cloth if in an excessively hot location, and give fertile soil and ample water. Get ready to harvest this lettuce in a mere 45 days!

Unless you are allowing the lettuce plants to set seed for seed harvesting, you should not allow the plants to flower. Blooms dense clusters of small yellow flowers.
