Lettuce (Lactuca sativa 'Sweet Red') - Description

Soft heads are creamy yellow inside creating the most beautiful butterhead we've ever seen. The outer leaves are a bright burgundy red, while inside, the color fades to creamy green near the center of the compact, tender 7" heads. This will grow best in cooler regions and should be ready for harvest in about 54 days. Plant early in spring and repeat every two weeks into fall. In the summer protect from heat with shade cloth. This little lettuce likes fertile soil, ample water. It is best when picked minutes before your meal.
