Fraser Magnolia (Magnolia fraseri) - Description
Magnolia fraseri (Fraser magnolia, mountain magnolia, earleaf cucumbertree, or mountain-oread), is a species of Magnolia native to the southeastern United States in the southern Appalachian Mountains and adjacent Atlantic and Gulf Coastal Plain from West Virginia south to northern Florida and west to eastern Texas. The Appalachian plants are classified as Magnolia fraseri var.
Fraser Magnolia (Magnolia fraseri) - Blooming
Magnolia flowers come in white, pink, red, purple, or yellow followed by cone-like fruits bearing colorful seeds. Some species take many years to flower.

Grows best in sun or partial shade. Mulch in early spring, especially where soils are dry. Late frost is a threat to early bloomers.
