Grand Duke Hybrid 45-50 days. All-America Winner. Extra-early hybrid produces smooth, round bulbs 4" across. Crisp, white flesh and mild, sweet flavor. Disease-tolerant. Proven tops for performance, flavor and wide adaptability. Sun.
Kohlrabi (Brassica oleracea 'Grand Duke') - Growth
Cool-season biennial grown as an annual. Kohlrabi is part of the cabbage family, but the least hardiest. Temperatures below 45°F (7°C) will lead kohlrabi to bolt. Hot weather is also detrimental, causing the stems to become tough and woody.
Kohlrabi (Brassica oleracea 'Grand Duke') - Planting
Sow seeds directly into the ground 4-6 weeks before the last frost date in your area. If starting kohlrabi indoors, plant seeds sometime from 4 weeks before to 2 weeks after the last frost. For fall crop, sow seeds 10 weeks before your first frost date.Before planting, work in a 2" layer of compost into the soil. Sow seeds 1/2" deep, spaced 1" apart in rows 18" apart. Space transplants and thin direct-sown seedlings to 8" apart.

Check the leaves regularly for pests like aphids, cabbageworms, cabbage loopers, and flea beetles. Kohlrabi is susceptible to the same diseases as cabbage and broccoli.
