Peony-Flowered Tulip (Tulipa x 'Angelique') - Description

Exquisite peony-like blossoms make stunning cut flowers at season's end. Perhaps the most beautiful of all the double tulips, Angelique is prized for its delicacy, its graceful form and unique coloring. Petals are full and luxuriant, slightly ruffled, shading from shell pink to darker pink. From a distance, you could easily mistake these enormous double late flowered tulips for peonies. They are among the last tulips to bloom. For a lovely presentation, try under planting them with forget-me-nots. They look their dramatic best in large plantings. Plant in a sheltered location out of the wind. Outstanding for cutting, the blooms are extra long lasting.
