Salvia (Salvia longispicata 'Mystic Spires Blue') - Description

Salvia 'Indigo Spires' was discovered as a chance hybrid seedling between two Mexican sages (S. longispicata and S. farinacea) in the Huntington Botanical Garden in the 1970's. Salvia 'Mystic Spires Blue' was developed by irradiation induction from 'Indigo Spires' to become the dwarf version of this popular variety in 2003. The result is this robust dwarf hybrid that will give an impressive bloom of true blue flowers that last all summer through the fall months. A fantastic addition to any colorful planting border or for an inspiring centerpiece for a container planting.
