Digitaria sanguinalis is a species of grass known by the common name hairy crabgrass or large crabgrass. It is one of the better-known species of crabgrass, and one that is known nearly worldwide as a common weed. It is an annual grass with an inflorescence of up to nine very long, very thin, radiating branches atop its stems.

The genus name Digitaria is derived from the Latin word digitus, which means finger. Digitaria is so named because the floral inflorescence resembles a hand with long fingers, which also explains why members of this genus are also sometimes called Finger-Grass. One species of the genus (D. exilis; common name: Fonio) is grown for its grain and is a widely grown crop in Africa. The grain is considered to be the smallest of the millets and can be used to make porridge or beer.
