Geum montanum, Alpine avens, is a flowering plant species native to Europe. Geum montanum roots have been used in the traditional Austrian medicine internally as tea for treatment of rheumatism, gout, infections, and fever.

Cut away flowers to promote continued blooming into the fall. The fuzzy seed heads are also attractive, so leave a few of the spent flowers to develope into these if you wish.
