Chinese Parasol Tree (Firmiana simplex) - Description
F. simplex is native to China and Japan. It bears smooth, light gray-green bark. It bears a trunk which is often unbranched for 4 to 5 feet before dividing into three or more branches. This tree bears learge, loose clusters of greenish white flowers during the summer.

Firmiana has both male and female flowers, so even if you have just one tree in the area, it will produce fruit held in showy papery capsules.
