Common Bean (Phaseolus vulgaris 'Tenderpick') - Description

Plants yield early and need no support. One packet has 2 oz. of seed unless noted, and will sow a row of about 20'; one pound sows about 160'. Burpee's seed is not treated. Tenderpick. Great flavor, similar to Tenderpod, with improved germination. Vigorous plants produce heavy yields of straight, 5-1/2", dark green, tender pods with curved tips and white seeds. Superb for fresh eating, canning and freezing. Burpee Bred. Sun.

Bush Beans do not need to be staked. Needs full sun. Beans love the heat and are frost sensitive.

Sow seeds after risk of frost (preferentially when the soil warms to 65-75°F). The seeds should be inserted 1" into the soil and 2" apart in rows 18" apart. Sowing seeds every 2 weeks throughout spring will ensure a constant harvest.
