Scarlet Sage (Salvia splendens 'Vista Salmon') - Description
Salvia splendens 'Vista Salmon' is another of the annual type Salvias. Gorgeous conical bi-color blooms dominate this short statured, upright growing beauty that won't reach over 12" in height. Blooms are a Salmon colored bottom with red tops creating impressive color and texture. The unfortunate trade off of this explosive bloomer is it's lack of hardiness below zone 11-- meaning it won't do well in cooler winter zones. But for unbelievable swaths of summer and fall color, plant this Salvia generously in large groups and enjoy the show. Besides attracting droves of butterflies and hummingbirds into your garden, it will not lose it's intense color even in the hottest of heat spells.

Flowers are 2-lipped and range in color from white, yellow, salmon, pink, red and scarlet. For continued blooming, deadhead flowers.
