Squash (Cucurbita moschata 'Neck Pumpkin') - Description
Still a regional favorite in the mid-Atlantic states, it's a very old form of Butternut squash. The large, long curving necks can reach 24" and are solid, bright orange and sweet inside. No need to scrape out the seeds before cooking; simply cut away the bulb and cook only the meaty neck. One of these will make many pies.
