Delicately cupped, silky textured flowers in light pastels of scarlet and white. Dwarf plants, 8-10" high, excellent for edging or pots.

Clarkias grow during cooler seasons and require little care. They do well in mixed borders. Can grow up to 4 ft. tall, but most species hover around 1 1/2 ft. tall.

Sow seeds in Autumn. Seedlings can be difficult to transplant. Sow directly outdoors in spring as soon as ground can be worked for bloom from midsummer into fall. Makes best growth in cool weather. For earlier bloom, sow seeds indoors in seed-starting formula in a well-lighted area about 6-8 weeks before last expected heavy spring frost. Before transfer to garden, accustom seedlings to outdoor conditions by moving to a sheltered place outside for a week.
