C. varia is a weedy European native. It bears lavender-pink flowers in 1 inch clusters which bllom from summer into fall. It dies to the ground in winter, even in mild climates.

The Crown Vetch will bloom lavender-pink, yellow, white, or pink, fragrant, pea-like flowers followed by slender pods.
