Spreading, bushy annuals and perennials. Needs partial shade in the hottest of climates but can take full sun in cooler environments. The most cultivated species is T. fournieri. Grows well as summer bedding, or at the anterior of an annual or mixed border. Also works well as a summer-flowering houseplant. Can also raise in a cool greenhouse.
