Tulip Tree (Liriodendron tulipifera) - Description

L. tulipifera is native to the eastern United States. It bears 5 to 6 inch leaves that are uniquely shaped . It produces foliage that turns from bright yellow green to bright yellow in the fall. It also produces tulip-shaped, 2 inch wide flowers in late spring which are greenish yellow, and orange at base.

Generally does not bloom until 12 to 15 years old. Bears cup-like green flowers followed by fruits. Foliage turns yellow in fall.
